The hug was unexpected, but not unwelcome. LJ’s spirits were lifted as the companion wrapped her cloaked form around his own. He had never really hugged someone before, and enjoyed the warmth and squeezing a lot. He awkwardly tried to return the hug, being careful not to poke her with the chain bracelets on his wrists was he wrapped his own arms around her waist.
He realized he was actually happy… no name, no voice, but this one still cared for him. It was an unusual feeling, no, it wasn’t really just happy… he’d never really felt this before either. But he really liked it.

Shira held the small wanderer, smiling as they wrapped their own arms around her waist. Their actions started rather unsure, Shira began to wonder if she had made them uncomfortable. Her fears were eased as they happily returned the hug.“There we are, it is all alright- oh!”As they hugged her, Shira felt something press into her side. She gently reached around to the small wayfarers wrist curiously. Cold steel met her touch.“What is this?”

LJ pulled back at the touch, knowing he’d have to try and explain them now. How could he? He didn’t know how they’d gotten there. He had woken up with them. He could explain one thing to Shira though…
He tugged at one of the chains firmly, and in doing so showed how strangely stiff they were, unable to be removed, followed by the familiar buzzing sensation in his wrist. Any harder and it would become painful.

He then showed the similar chains around his waist and on his neck, just underneath his hood, which buzzed if he attempted to pull it up any further. All of these combined made it impossible for LJ to remove his cloaks, which frustrated him to no end. Why were they there?
He didn’tknow how to explain much more, so he gave another grumpy shrug. Now she’d think he was a freak. That’s usually when they left. No voice, no face, no name. Just one cloaked figure out of millions. Too weird. Too unnatural.

MOD: Journey Fanon Question

((Do we have a set name for the “race” of the Journeyers? We’ve pretty much established they aren’t human, but I mean we can still call them that if it’s easier. I was just wondering if people have thought of a different name for the ones beneath the cloaks.))

(( There is actually a canon name that the developers revealed in their commentary. To my knowledge it’s the only place it’s mentioned and they say it in passing but it’s clearly labeled.

They’re called Rythulians. ))

((RYTHULIAN

We have a canon name for the race!

You can still use wayfarer or journeyer, of course, but if you ever need this term, now we know. Thanks!))

((I’d do TMI Tuesday))

((But I know all I’d get is sexual stuff

And LJ doesn’t do any of that))

The first thing LJ noticed and a new friend was the scarf, always the scarf… on this one it wasn’t much to look at, as plain as any, so he moved to the second most noticeable thing: the traveler’s ears. They were quite large, larger than his own, which twitched upon seeing a similarity. LJ turned and gave a wordless greeting chirp back, his eyes still glancing occasionally up at the woman’s ears.

“Greetings little one!” Shira sang out. “It has been some time since I have seen another traveler in these parts. Perhaps we could keep each other company for a time.” Chiming happily, Shira stopped a polite distance away before giving a small bow in greeting. “I am Shira.”
Watching the small wanderer, a grin grew from behind her mask as they eyed her ears. With a twitch of her head, Shira sent her ears into a playful flapping motion for a few brief seconds. She let out a giggle.

LJ chirruped, delightedly giving his ears a small wiggle in response. He liked this one. He trotted up to the journeyer and chirruped again inquiringly, frustrated again at his lack of a speaking ability. Prodding at her ear, he chirped once more, hoping that he could get his point across.

As the small wanderer approached, Shira leaned down as they made a motion at her ears. Her ears twitched again as she felt her new companion poke at her hood. “Hmm? What is it little one?” Shira questioned.

LJ wasn’t sure why he had done it, but he was glad he did. The sensation of rubbing his ears to another’s felt great; it gave him a warm, comforted feeling. He stopped quickly though, realizing that it might have made her feel uncomfortable.

What the small joureyner did next surprised Shira. A laugh escaped her as they began nuzzling against her ears. A strange one this one was, but perhaps it was a customary greeting from where they were from? Just as they had started, they abruptly stopped and pulled back, looking slightly embarrassed. Shira found it endearing.
“It is quite alright little one. It is wonderful to meet you- Why, I do not believe I have gotten your name yet dear.” She smiled down at him, tilting her head.

LJ’s warm joy was abruptly ended by her words. He looked down at the shifting sands and gave a small, sad chirp followed by a short shrug. It made him feel even worse because he knew she would feel guilty for making him feel bad, even though she couldn’t have known. Why couldn’t he just speak?!

Shira watched the small wayfarer, concern creasing her brow. Had she said something wrong. As they let a sorrowful chirp ring out, it struck a chord with Shira. It seemed the very manifestation of misery stood before her. As she watched them with a worried look, realization dawned upon her. Perhaps they could not…
“Ah…my dearest apologies, I was unaware that…” As words failed her, Shira knelt down and drew the small wanderer into a caring hug.
“It is all alright dear.”

I. LOVE. THIS. FANDOM. <33333333333

((AGREED, REALLY FUN…))

(( MOST DEF I love you lot <3 ))

-Piles on the love-

((You’re all definitely some of the most loving people I’ve met ^^))

LJ was confused for a moment when he saw the cloaked figure approaching. The color was… a lot different from what he’d been used to seeing. The colors looked very bright and nice next to each other, like some kind of tasty fruit…

LJ realized he was being rude by not answering, and gave a mute chirp back to the strangely cloaked traveler, but continued to be transfixed on the waving of the dark-colored scarf. He wondered what that color was called.

((My tablet’s being wonky))

((Drawn responses are out for now, until I can get it working again. I suppose I can still do text RPs. So be ready for some of those.))
